WHY HIRE A PROFESSIONAL INTERIOR DESIGNER?
Using a PIID Member is the only way to ensure your designer has met the Philippine professional standards for interior design.
In the Philippines 'interior designer' is not a fully protected term, as there are still enhancements to the current RA 10350 law, and therefore anyone is able to set up a practice and call themselves an design consultant or decorator or stylist regardless of qualifications or experience.
When you hire a PIID Member, with a PIID attached to their name, you can be sure that a designer has met exceptionally high standards of professionalism and competence. To become a PIID Member, a designer must:
Have completed the four year Bachelor of Interior Design course with Diploma or Certificate of Diploma in Interior Design
Passed a rigorous national Board Exam for professional competence conducted by the Philippine Regulation Commission
Fulfill the institute's 45 points requirement of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for every cycle (3 years per cycle), and 4 GMM attendances.
